Crime: Man with mask and bag robs bank
Employees told deputies they almost didn’t believe the man was there to rob the bank, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office. He walked in just before noon on Monday. He wore a black ski mask and held out a plastic bag. “Put the money in the bag,” the man said. “Hurry, hurry.” The teller said he gave the man all the money from his drawer. The sheriff’s office did not disclose how much money was taken. The man went to another teller and demanded money. She told him her drawer was locked. The man didn’t wait. He walked out the door and down the handicapped-access ramp. The robber was described as a white male, 25 to 35, 5-foot-7 to 5-10. Tellers said he had hazel eyes. He work a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans. Deputies and Pawleys Island Police searched the area. The sheriff’s office bloodhound team joined the search. The robber was not found.
