March 3, 2022
Kareen Rae Stelow of the River Club died Feb. 20. She was 83. The cause was an unexpected, ruptured blood vessel in her brain.
She was born April 20, 1938, the daughter of Irene and Reiny Hoerning. She grew up in Appleton, Wisc. She went back to school after her family was started and earned a degree in nursing. She was employed in many different medical capacities.
She and her husband of 64 years, Bruce, lived in Wisconsin before moving to the Pawleys Island area 17 years ago.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children, Dean (Rebecca) Stelow, David (Cindy) Stelow and daughter Rae Ariel (Judy); her sister-in-law, Joan Hoerning; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her brother, Bud Hoerning, died before her.
One of her closest and dearest friends was Pastor Martin Ruge who helped her develop a very strong faith in the Lord. She died knowing that the victory was hers because as Jesus was resurrected, she will be also, her family said.
There will be no funeral. Her ashes will be buried by the Stelow headstone at Oak Hill cemetery in Neenah, Wisc.
